Viewing and Buying
If you have not already done so, the first step is to
see the Lumifonts with your own eyes.
I keep several on display at my studio:
Orrelwood Waterworks studio,
Whalley Range, Manchester.
(See contact details opposite)
Designing and making hi-tech water features is
a spare time activity that I fit around my full time job at Manchester
University physics department.
Hence it is important to phone me first to arrange a mutually
convenient viewing time. You'll
receive a friendly reception and absolutely no hard
sell. It is simply a pleasure for me to show off my work.

Prices
Lumifont prices typically vary from £200 to £500 depending on
various details of the model. Choices include: style of ceramic pot or
other housing (e.g. a boulder), nozzle decoration, illumination colour
programme, type of pebbles, length of
cable etc. The above price range can include some custom design elements. I have
also successfully undertaken larger customised projects costing over a thousand pounds.

Delivery and Installation
It can be reasonably straightforward to install a Lumifont
yourself if you have a 13 amp socket in a dry location such as a cellar, living
room or garage. External 13 amp sockets are not particularly convenient for the
Lumifont as the transformer must be kept in a dry location.
I offer a delivery and installation service, costing from
£25 upwards depending on delivery distance and the complexity of the
installation. The installation can vary from simple (e.g. positioning the Lumifont on
level ground and routing the low voltage cable to the transformer in a dry indoors
location with an existing 13 amp socket) to complex (e.g. building
a plinth for the Lumifont and providing extras such as an RCD-protected socket,
external waterproof housing for the transformer, armoured cables, a remote control switch or an automatic daylight
switch etc).
Note that, since 2005, any external electrical installation
work must be carried out and certificated by a competent 'Part P registered'
electrician. This can be arranged but will add significantly to the cost. It is
generally easier and cheaper to plug the Lumifont transformer into an indoor
socket and run the low voltage cable through a wall to the outside.
